Mission Statement
The Shepherd's Cafe offers a common forum that encourages and promotes Catholic culture for like-minded people to come together to share and grow in their faith. Our activities hold true to Catholic teachings and/or encourage those in attendance to live out their Catholic faith. The cafe draws young people together for network opportunities and to strengthen the Catholic community in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
2. Promote Vocations -
We work together with Religious Orders and Diocesan priests to promote Vocations and spiritually feed the people they encounter.
3. Social Justice -
We help impoverished coffee farmers from Third World countries through our sub-ministry, Mission Coffee Ministry. Serving coffee from Honduras and Nicaragua while sharing the stories of these farmers allows us to educate and make awareness of poverty around the world.
Our Future Vision:
- To have a free-standing coffee house close distance to a Catholic church
- Provide a coffee house open to the public for normal business hours Monday through Saturday
- Promote and provide live Catholic entertainment (musicians, speakers, artists, comedians, shows, movies, etc.) on Friday and Saturday evenings
- Create an environment where people can come for meetings or study
- A place for social interactions, networking, and fellowship amongst Catholics
- Offer variety of products (apparel, jewelry, books, cds, etc.) geared towards young people to promote Catholic culture at the gift shop
- Promote Vocations by working with different Religious orders and Diocesan priest
-
Provide information, counseling, answer questions, or receive spiritual direction on a given time and day to individuals from organizations such as:
- Various Religious orders and Diocesan priests
- Pro-life organizations
- Pro-bono counseling services
- Any other Catholic organizations willing to serve young people
