3-Year Anniversary in April

We celebrated our 3-year anniversary on Sat., April 17. Café attendance has doubled since coming to Mary Immaculate in January 2010, drawing in people–young and old, single and married, from both Dallas and Ft.Worth Dioceses. To celebrate this exciting anniversary, the café staff originally planned an outdoors event in the beautiful courtyard, but God had other plans. Instead of “under the stars” it was more like “under the ceiling lights” due to inclement weather, but none the less the evening was beautiful.

Fr. Alfonse Nazarro, LC was our main presider and exposed Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, while Br. Francesco Gavazzi and Br. Timothy Sgoutas of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal lead us in prayer, praise and worship. Fr. Michael Olson and Fr. James Oberle, S.S. from Holy Trinity Seminary graciously came to hear confessions. It was inspiring to see so many young people gathered on a Saturday night in line to partake in Reconciliation during the Holy Hour where many graces were surely poured out.

In honor of the “Year for Priests”, Holy Trinity Seminarians Joseph de Orbegozo, Christian Mondragon, Michael Baynham and Joe Keating performed a phenomenal jazz set along side University of Dallas grad students Mark Loyet and Chris Kellerman!

Promoting vocations is one piece of our mission along with promoting Catholic culture and serving coffee from impoverished countries to bring awareness to poverty around the world, especially in South America.
